One of our pipes got clogged and made it difficult to use our washing machine and kitchen sink (both are kinda important, especially this time of year!) When the guys came they were punctual and professional. He showed me the pipes using a special camera which was interesting. He got everything unclogged and also pointed out that we have a leak along a part of the pipe (but that’s a job for later me to worry about)

What does the $299 include?
$299 is our starting price for a standard small grease trap — a full pump-out, tank walls and baffles cleaned, inlet and outlet tees inspected, and a signed service manifest for your records. Larger interceptors are priced by size and access, and we quote them before we arrive. No trip fees, no fuel surcharge, no charge for the paperwork.
Why do other companies refuse to give me a price?
Because quoting on-site lets them price to the situation instead of the job. We publish a starting number so you can budget before you call. If your trap needs more than the base service, you'll hear the number and approve it before we start work.
How often does my grease trap legally need to be cleaned?
It depends on your city and your equipment, and the intervals are shorter than most operators expect. In Tacoma, small hydromechanical interceptors generally require cleaning at least monthly, and self-cleaning units require a licensed pumper on a quarterly basis. In Seattle, you follow your manufacturer's specifications, and where none exist, buildup should stay under 25% of the interceptor. Tell us your city and trap type and we'll tell you your interval — no charge for the answer.
Am I even required to have a grease trap? I run a small shop, not a restaurant.
Probably yes. In Seattle, any business with commercial kitchen plumbing and a King County Food Business Permit needs an interceptor — that includes delis, coffee shops, ice cream shops, pizza places, and caterers. Seating count and square footage don't exempt you.
What happens if I fall behind?
In Seattle, non-compliance can bring fines, and you can also be billed for the City's costs if grease from your line damages the sewer system. If you have a backup inside your business, you're expected to close and contact Seattle-King County Public Health. The cost of a missed pumping is almost never the pumping.
How do I know you're actually pumping the whole trap?
Partial pumping is the most common complaint operators have about grease haulers, and it's why traps fail inspection a month after service. We vacuum to the bottom of the tank — grease, water, and settled solids — then flush the walls and baffles and refill to restore the seal. Your manifest lists the volume removed, so the work is documented, not just described.
