Project Spotlight: Renton Grease Trap Cleaning

Upfront Septic was called to a commercial property in Renton, WA to provide grease trap cleaning and maintenance. Upon arrival, our technician located the property's 2,500-gallon grease trap in the rear of the business. The system is equipped with risers to provide access to the tank for servicing and inspection.

Our team pumped the entire 2,500-gallon grease trap, removing accumulated grease and waste from the system and helping restore proper capacity and function.

During the cleaning and inspection, we identified several areas of concern with the condition of the tank. A crack was found in the corner of the first compartment that is allowing water to enter the tank. In the second compartment, there was a large gap where the riser meets the tank that will need to be properly resealed. We also found a cracked and deteriorating section of the sidewall near the outlet side of the second compartment. This area should be resealed to help prevent further deterioration and potential leaks.

The grease trap was fully pumped and the inspection provided the property owner with a clear understanding of the repairs needed to help protect the system. Upfront Septic recommends addressing the damaged and unsealed areas to maintain the integrity of the grease trap and prevent more extensive problems in the future.
