This was a new pump installation. The chamber sits just off the deck at the side of the house, so the ground around it was opened up to reach it and the work area taped off while the job was under way.
The old pump came out as a single assembly — pump, discharge pipe, float bracket and cable together. The replacement went in with new pipework made up to it and the wiring run back down into the chamber.
The lid went back on once the new pump was seated.
