Project Spotlight: Woodinville Septic Inspections

Upfront Septic visited a property in Woodinville, WA, to inspect the septic system after identifying concerns with its operation. Upon arrival, our technicians found that the high-level alarm was sounding, indicating that the system needed attention. The inspection also revealed that the system's timer settings had been modified and that the alarm float had become detached from the float tree.

During the inspection, our team determined that both the septic tank and pump tank needed to be pumped. The detached alarm float and modified timer settings will also need to be addressed to help the system operate and alert the homeowner to high wastewater levels as intended.

Additional work is recommended to address these findings and improve access for future maintenance. The planned follow-up includes pumping both tanks, reattaching the alarm float to the float tree, adjusting the timer settings, and installing three 24-inch risers. Digging will be required to complete the riser installation.

By identifying these issues during the inspection, Upfront Septic provided the homeowner with a clear plan for the next steps needed to maintain the septic system and address the active high-level alarm.

Woodinville Septic Inspections

A Woodinville inspection with the high-level alarm already sounding. The timer settings had been changed and the alarm float had come off the float tree, so the alarm could not do its job. Both tanks need pumping, and three 24-inch risers are planned to make future access easier.

Woodinville·Septic System Cleaning

Woodinville Septic System Cleaning

A Woodinville pump-out where both the two-compartment tank and the 200–300-gallon pump basin were found flooded. The alarm was working but the pump appeared to have failed, and the discharge line was broken at its connection to the tank. Both tanks were pumped, and root intrusion in every riser was noted for resealing.

Woodinville Septic Service

A Woodinville pump-out that turned into more than routine work. The 1,250-gallon two-compartment tank was slightly flooded behind a settled conveyance line, which was also stopping the outlet filter coming out. Lid gaskets were missing on two lids, and the mainline appeared settled as well.

Woodinville Septic Tank Riser Installation

A Woodinville riser installation and reseal. Two 24-inch risers and one 12-inch riser resealed to the tank, the transport line excavated and its connection resealed, and a new 12-inch riser fitted over the LCB, all backfilled at the end.

Spanaway

Spanaway Septic Inspection

A Spanaway inspection that turned up gaps where the risers meet the tank, at the inlet connection and around the others, with root intrusion at both compartments. The tank did not need pumping, and a toilet flushed before we left came through strongly. Resealing all the risers is the recommendation.

Woodinville Septic Tank Pumping

A Woodinville homeowner had dug out their own buried lids before we arrived. The two-compartment tank was flooded behind an outlet baffle filter that was restricting the flow of effluent; the tank and pump tank were both pumped, with the shallow risers, their loose lids and a lush damp patch over the drainfield noted to watch.

Tacoma Septic Tank Pumping and Inspection

A Tacoma tank that had gone a long time without being pumped. The customer had opened the first compartment; we excavated the second to reach the whole tank, crust busted through a heavy build-up of solids, and pumped approximately 1,125 gallons — a job that took considerably longer than usual because of the condition inside.

University Place Septic Inspection and Pumping

A two-compartment tank in University Place with risers on every access point but the outlet. The transport line at the outlet was completely submerged, pointing at a drainfield beginning to struggle, and root intrusion was found where the risers meet the tank. We pumped approximately 1,125 gallons and stress tested the system.
