Upfront Septic responded to an emergency septic service call for a homeowner in Redmond, WA, after the property experienced recurring backups, gurgling sounds from the bathroom fixtures, and frequent sewage odors. The homeowner was particularly concerned after noticing gurgling in the toilet, sink, and bathtub closest to the septic system when water was being used.
Upon arrival, our technician found the two-compartment septic tank in a flooded state. We used a Crustbuster to break up and mix the accumulated solids before pumping the septic tank. The outlet baffle filter was also found to be clogged and was cleaned to help restore proper effluent flow.
The pump tank was also pumped as part of the emergency service. During the inspection, we identified a significant issue with the outlet baffle transport line. The transport line has severely settled, creating a condition that restricts the movement of effluent and causes the septic tank to flood.
Upfront Septic addressed the immediate flooded condition by pumping the septic and pump tanks, cleaning the clogged outlet baffle filter, and removing accumulated solids. The severely settled transport line remains an important issue that should be addressed to help prevent continued flooding, backups, and related septic problems.
