Project Spotlight: Gig Harbor Septic System Cleaning

Upfront Septic visited a property in Gig Harbor, WA, after the homeowner reported occasionally noticing sewage odors in the yard, particularly during the summer. Although the septic system was approximately six years old, it had never been pumped. The homeowner scheduled an inspection to identify the possible source of the odor and determine whether pumping was needed.

During the inspection, our technicians found that the distribution box (D-box) lid was cracked and damaged. This may be contributing to the sewage odor, and replacing the lid was recommended. The inlet and outlet baffles appeared to be in good condition, and no visible deterioration was found in the septic tank's floors or walls.

As part of the service, our team used a CrustBuster to break up accumulated solids and pumped approximately 1,000 gallons from the tank. At the time of inspection, the septic system appeared to be functioning correctly.

The recommended follow-up work is to replace the damaged distribution box lid. Addressing this issue may help reduce the reported odor and protect the distribution box from exposure. Upfront Septic provided the homeowner with an assessment of the system's condition and a clear next step for continued septic maintenance.

Gig Harbor Septic System Cleaning

A six-year-old Gig Harbor system that had never been pumped, called out for summer sewage odor in the yard. The distribution box lid was found cracked, which may be the source. Solids were broken up with a CrustBuster and about 1,000 gallons pumped; the baffles and the tank itself were sound.

Gig Harbor Emergency Septic Services

An emergency call in Gig Harbor after a junction box fell into the pump tank. The tank was flooded, smoke and sparking were seen once the pump was run, and about 1,200 gallons were pumped to reach the lid at the bottom. The electrical was left for a qualified professional.

A Gig Harbor tank with no risers and roots at every main access opening, including around the inlet and outlet connections. Solids were broken up with a CrustBuster and about 1,125 gallons pumped, a damaged effluent filter was replaced, and five risers plus two resealed connections are planned.

Gig Harbor Septic Service

A second opinion on a Gig Harbor system after another company's inspection. Root intrusion was found at the ATU riser, the pump tank conveyance line and the junction box, the UV light was disconnected with a broken casing, and the drain field showed no signs of trouble. Pumping was recommended after about three years.

Woodinville Septic System Cleaning

A Woodinville pump-out where both the two-compartment tank and the 200–300-gallon pump basin were found flooded. The alarm was working but the pump appeared to have failed, and the discharge line was broken at its connection to the tank. Both tanks were pumped, and root intrusion in every riser was noted for resealing.

Gig Harbor Septic Pumping and Inspection

A Gig Harbor homeowner trying us after being let down by their previous company. Routine pumping plus an O&M inspection: approximately 500 gallons from the trash tank, a gap found where the mainline enters it, and a two-amp fuse that blew again as soon as it was replaced — an electrical fault still to be traced.
