Project Spotlight: Gig Harbor Septic Service

Upfront Septic was called to a Gig Harbor, WA property for a second opinion following a recent septic inspection. The homeowners typically work with another septic company, but chose Upfront Septic after learning that we are happy to beat or price match competing septic service pricing. Our technicians inspected the system and provided an independent assessment of the septic system and recommended maintenance.

The property has an Aqua Work system with a two-compartment septic tank and pump tank located in the backyard. During the inspection, our technicians found root intrusion at several locations, including where the ATU riser meets the tank, where the conveyance line enters the pump tank through the mastic seal, and at the junction box. These areas will require additional sealing work to help prevent further root intrusion.

The system’s UV light was also not connected, and the UV light casing was broken and needs to be replaced. The customer already had a replacement bulb, so the remaining work will include rewiring the UV light and installing the new casing. The air filter was removed and cleaned, and the low-air alarm and pump float alarm were both tested successfully. The pump was also placed in hand mode and turned on properly.

It had been approximately three years since the system was last pumped, so pumping was recommended. Our technicians also inspected the drain field before leaving the property and found no visible signs of effluent surfacing, sewage odors, or unusually mushy ground.

More work to follow includes septic pumping, UV light rewiring and casing replacement, ATU riser resealing, and resealing the pump tank conveyance line connection.

Gig Harbor Septic Service

A second opinion on a Gig Harbor system after another company's inspection. Pumping was recommended after about three years.

Gig Harbor Septic Tank Pumping

A Gig Harbor pump-out covering both the septic tank and the pump tank. The pump tank lid was replaced while we were there, and the two-piece riser on the first compartment was found with its adapter not sealed tightly, which is booked in for follow-up work.

Woodinville Septic Service

A Woodinville pump-out that turned into more than routine work. The 1,250-gallon two-compartment tank was slightly flooded behind a settled conveyance line, which was also stopping the outlet filter coming out. Lid gaskets were missing on two lids, and the mainline appeared settled as well.

Gig Harbor Septic Pumping and Inspection

A Gig Harbor homeowner trying us after being let down by their previous company. Routine pumping plus an O&M inspection: approximately 500 gallons from the trash tank, a gap found where the mainline enters it, and a two-amp fuse that blew again as soon as it was replaced — an electrical fault still to be traced.

Gig Harbor Septic Inspection and Repair

A high-level alarm at a Gig Harbor property with the pump tank flooded. We pumped the pump tank and about 1,125 gallons from the septic tank, and the inspection found a pump that would not activate, an unsealed junction box, root intrusion and lid damage.

Burien Septic Service

A high-level alert at a Burien home turned out to be a pump timer set well outside the system's as-built specification, flooding the pump tank. We corrected the timer, pumped both tanks, tested the pump, and found root intrusion around the risers.
