Project Spotlight: North Bend Septic Pumping & Inspection

Upfront Septic visited a cabin property in North Bend, WA, to pump and inspect an older septic system. The cabin was built in the 1960s, and the owner expressed concerns about potential septic deficiencies due to the property's proximity to the river. The owner had already excavated much of the area around the septic tank, allowing our technicians to access the system without additional digging.

Upon arrival, our team pumped the single-compartment septic tank. The main tank lid was already equipped with a riser, while the inlet and outlet lids had been excavated for access. During the inspection, technicians observed slight root intrusion entering between the septic tank's top and sidewall. Additional root intrusion was present around the transport line, where wastewater travels through the system.

To address these findings, recommended follow-up work includes installing two 12-inch risers, resealing the septic tank, and resealing the transport line. These improvements can help provide better access for future maintenance and address areas where roots are entering the system.

Further evaluation and completion of the recommended work can help clarify the system's condition and determine the appropriate next steps.

North Bend Septic Tank Riser Installation

The follow-up work on a North Bend property, carrying out what the sale inspection recommended. Risers over all three tank access ports, the mainline connection resealed with hydraulic cement, and a leveler added to a lateral line to even out flow across the drainfield.

North Bend Property Sale Inspections & RSS

A point-of-sale inspection in North Bend where the main lid sat under a deck and boards had to come up to reach the rest. The lids were not airtight, there is a gap where the mainline meets the tank, and one of the three lateral lines took no flow during the stress test.

Septic Pumping

Bremerton Septic Pumping

A routine Bremerton pump-out on a system with risers over both tanks. Approximately 1,000 gallons removed, the inlet and outlet baffles inspected and sound, and no signs of deterioration in the accessible tank walls or floors.

Auburn Septic Pumping

A flooded Auburn system with effluent surfacing from both the primary and the reserve drainfield. The alarm panel showed the timer dosing for 12 minutes every hour, which was reset to the as-built settings, and 3,500 gallons were pumped across the trash tank, septic tank and pump tank.

Gig Harbor Septic Pumping and Inspection

A Gig Harbor homeowner trying us after being let down by their previous company. Routine pumping plus an O&M inspection: approximately 500 gallons from the trash tank, a gap found where the mainline enters it, and a two-amp fuse that blew again as soon as it was replaced — an electrical fault still to be traced.

Renton

Renton Septic Pumping

A Renton customer called us after another company reported the septic pump had failed. We arrived to a high-level alarm and a flooded system, found both baffles in good condition, and pumped approximately 1,300 gallons in total — 1,000 from the septic tank and 300 from the pump tank — to bring the flooding down and evaluate the system.

A two-compartment tank in Bonney Lake sitting two inches below grade with no risers. Baffles were in good condition, but there was slight root intrusion at both lids and a gap at the mainline connection. Approximately 1,000 gallons pumped, with riser installation and resealing to follow.
