Project Spotlight: Anderson Island Septic Pumping & Inspection

Upfront Septic provided septic pumping and inspection services at a property on Anderson Island, WA, after the homeowner experienced an issue with the pump system alarm. Upon arrival, our technicians found that the pump tank's liquid level was slightly elevated. The homeowner had turned off power to the pump system to silence the alarm.

Our team pumped both the septic tank and the pump tank to remove accumulated wastewater and help restore capacity. Technicians then performed a drawdown test to evaluate pump performance, recording an average drawdown rate of 2.5 inches per minute.

During the inspection, root intrusion was found around the riser serving the second compartment of the septic tank and around the pump tank riser. The conveyance line, which carries wastewater from the septic tank to the pump tank, also appeared to have settled. Although the line was still allowing liquid to flow into the pump tank normally at the time of service, its settled position should be addressed.

Recommended follow-up work includes resealing both affected risers to help prevent further root intrusion and bringing the settled conveyance line back to grade. Installing new risers or extending the existing risers may also be necessary to improve access and properly address the affected areas.

Addressing these concerns can help protect the system from additional root intrusion and support reliable wastewater movement between the septic and pump tanks.

Auburn Septic Pumping

A flooded Auburn system with effluent surfacing from both the primary and the reserve drainfield. The alarm panel showed the timer dosing for 12 minutes every hour, which was reset to the as-built settings, and 3,500 gallons were pumped across the trash tank, septic tank and pump tank.

A Gig Harbor homeowner trying us after being let down by their previous company. Routine pumping plus an O&M inspection: approximately 500 gallons from the trash tank, a gap found where the mainline enters it, and a two-amp fuse that blew again as soon as it was replaced — an electrical fault still to be traced.

Renton Septic Pumping

A Renton customer called us after another company reported the septic pump had failed. We arrived to a high-level alarm and a flooded system, found both baffles in good condition, and pumped approximately 1,300 gallons in total — 1,000 from the septic tank and 300 from the pump tank — to bring the flooding down and evaluate the system.

A two-compartment tank in Bonney Lake sitting two inches below grade with no risers. Baffles were in good condition, but there was slight root intrusion at both lids and a gap at the mainline connection. Approximately 1,000 gallons pumped, with riser installation and resealing to follow.
